KCOM, a leading broadband provider in Hull, UK, has announced the winners of its latest round of Digital Inclusion Grants aimed at enhancing online access and digital skills in the community.

On July 9th, 2025, Hull-based broadband provider KCOM celebrated the awarding of three new Digital Inclusion Grants, totaling £20,000, to support initiatives that foster digital literacy and community engagement across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Since the launch of the scheme, £100,000 has already been distributed to various projects dedicated to improving digital access.

The scheme, which is scheduled to continue until the end of 2026, is designed to promote digital inclusion, strengthen community bonds, and support various demographics in adapting to the digital age.

The recent recipients include ‘Run With It’, ‘Humber Wellbeing Hub CIC’, and ‘Pickering & Ferens Homes’. ‘Run With It’ will utilize its £5,000 grant to upgrade IT equipment and enhance digital skills among youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. Meanwhile, ‘Humber Wellbeing Hub CIC’ plans to develop an interactive digital booklet to assist individuals in managing mental health challenges related to significant life changes.

‘Pickering & Ferens Homes’ is set to create a smart technology-enabled flat thanks to its £10,000 allocation. This project aims to support elderly residents in maintaining independence, reducing reliance on traditional social and health care services.

Louise Babych, KCOM Community Impact Partner, highlighted the importance of these initiatives, emphasizing their role in empowering local communities to leverage online opportunities and improve quality of life.

Applications for the next round of grants are open until the end of August 2025, inviting local organizations to participate in this ongoing effort to bridge the digital divide.
