The Institute of Customer Service (ICS) has released its biannual UK Customer Satisfaction Index for July 2025, revealing that Tesco Mobile is the only telecom provider to rank among the top 50 organizations in the country, coming in at 9th place with a score of 85. The report, based on over 15,000 survey responses, indicates a slight overall improvement in the ‘Telecommunications & Media’ sector, which saw its average customer satisfaction rise by 1.1 points to 74.4 out of 100.
Tesco Mobile’s rise from 16th position with a score of 82.5 to 9th with 85 points marks a significant achievement, making it the leading telecom provider in customer satisfaction. Despite this, no other telecom companies made it into the top 50 except for Tesco Mobile, though some providers, like Utility Warehouse and Virgin Media, showed notable improvements.
Utility Warehouse’s score improved from 74.1 to 79.2, earning it 13th place in the ‘most improved’ organizations, while Virgin Media increased its score from 63.5 to 68, ranking 236th overall but impressively making it into the top 20 in the ‘most improved’ list.
These findings reflect a competitive landscape where only a few telecoms excel in customer satisfaction, yet improvements in companies like Virgin Media suggest ongoing efforts to better serve their customers.
