Glo Fiber has begun deploying its fiber optic network in Hillsboro, offering residents and businesses access to high-speed internet. Construction started earlier this year and the service is expected to be fully operational by early 2026.

Glo Fiber, operated by Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel), has recently launched its fiber optic broadband service in Hillsboro, Ohio. The project, which began construction earlier this year, aims to connect over 3,000 homes and businesses with a reliable, high-speed internet option. The initial neighborhoods are now connected, with more areas to follow as construction progresses.

The city’s Mayor, Justin Harsha, expressed his support for the project, emphasizing the importance of robust infrastructure for a growing community. He highlighted that fiber broadband offers significant benefits for local businesses, students, and homeowners, positioning Hillsboro as a community prepared for future digital demands.

Glo Fiber’s service boasts symmetrical upload and download speeds of up to 5 Gbps, made possible through fiber-to-the-home technology and Shentel’s extensive regional fiber network. This ensures high speeds, low latency, and excellent reliability, making it a competitive option in the broadband market.

In addition to internet, Glo Fiber provides phone, video, and Whole Home Wi-Fi services, guaranteeing seamless connectivity across different devices within residential and commercial spaces. The company has a reputation for exceptional local customer service, aiming to support the community’s digital needs.

Chris Kyle, Vice President at Shentel, expressed enthusiasm about the service launch, stating that high-speed fiber internet will empower local businesses, support remote work and education, and improve digital experiences for families. The service features straightforward pricing, no long-term contracts, and prompt customer support, setting it apart from competitors.
